California-DFPI MLO License Overview

There are two types of MLO licenses in California: CA-DFPI and CA-DRE.

A California-DFPI license allows you to work with mortgages that fall under the California Finance Lenders Law (CFLL) or the California Residential Mortgage Lenders Act (CRMLA).

If you are not sure which MLO license you need, get your license from whichever agency your current or future employer operates in.
