How to Find a Friend's Amazon Wish List

To request access to your friend's wish list at the Amazon website:

Amazon removed the public search for wish lists, though wedding and baby shower wish lists are still publicly available. For personal wish lists, your friend or family member must share their Wish List with you.

  1. Hover over Accounts & Lists and select Find a List or Registry.

Select the Your Friends tab. Friends who shared their lists with you show up on this screen.

If the email goes to a default email program you don't normally use, select Copy message. Then, paste the message into your email program, add the recipient's email address, and select Send.

How to Find an Amazon Wedding or Baby Registry

To locate a wedding or baby shower Amazon wish list and purchase items from it:

  1. Hover over Accounts & Lists >Find a List or Registry. Select either Wedding Registry or Baby Registry from the menu bar.

Type your friend's name and select Search.

Select your friend's profile and view the list. To refine your search, use the search box provided on this page.

There can be many people with your friend's name. Be certain you select the proper person.

How to Purchase an Item From a Friend's Amazon Wish List or Registry

The value of these shared lists and registries is to ensure that the gift recipient receives what they need or want while eliminating duplicate gift-giving. To avoid duplication, shop from the list or the registry rather than using it as an ideas list that you fulfill from your account or through in-store purchasing at your local department store.

  1. Choose a gift and select Add to Cart. Confirm your selection in the pop-up window by selecting Add to Cart again. Choose Proceed to Checkout.

You can ship to your friend even if your friend didn't include an address on the list. If this is the case, enter the address yourself.

If you're able to ship the package with the on-file shipping address, the item you purchaseis removed from their wish list when the order is complete. If you elect to have the gift shipped to you, it is not automatically removed from their list.

Some people use one generic list for their wishes and shopping. The owner of the list is free to purchase from the list. In those situations, Amazon suggests that someone might have purchased the item and will—if the person requests to know—reveal that the item was purchased.

How do you make an Amazon Wish List?

To make an Amazon wish list, log in top Amazon and select Accounts & Lists > Create a List. Name your list. On the Lists page, select Manage List to set your list specifications. To add an item, go to the Buy box and select Add to List.

How do I share an Amazon wish list?

To share your Amazon wish list, go to Accounts and Lists > Wish Lists. Next, select your list, then choose Invite or Send List to Others. Choose View Only or View and Edit, then copy the share link or send it via email.

How do I buy from someone's Amazon wish list?

To purchase from a list, browse the list. Choose an item from the list and select Add to Cart. Proceed to checkout to buy the item. After you buy it, the item will be moved to the Purchased section of the person's list.
